The Beach on Hilton Head Island

 

HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA

Hey there!  Our next trip was to sunny Hilton Head Island, SC.....yes, in January......despite the time of the year, it can be very nice along the coast of South Carolina.    Regardless of the temperature, this is one beautiful place.......big oaks with Spanish moss hanging, palm trees, and the spacious beaches.  There is indeed romance in walking along the beach, listening to the surf, even if it is a little cool.   However, as you will see, the temperature was not a problem.  Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the outdoor swimming pool was not only open, but there were people in the water.

 

Okay, let's get down to the savings!  This was a quick two night trip for Pam and I.  Hilton Head is only a half day's drive from where we live.  So, our major expense would be our accommodations.  But, that would not be an issue.  Using the Coastal Package our only costs were room taxes of $11.12 for two nights.  The best rate I could find for this hotel was $69.00 a night, bringing our weekend savings to: $138.00, which Pam conveniently used in the many shops on the island.  Oh well, easy come, easy go!
